Sacred Woman Series
Queen Afua’s words resonate within the DNA of those whose ancestors experienced a genocide like no other: chattel slavery. The Middle Passage was an initiation into a centuries-long amnesic spell where our existence was dis-membered. Ausar’s body was dismembered into 14 parts in the Ausarian drama, only to be remembered, or put back together again by his beloved partner Auset. The Divine Feminine Principle is essential to this remembrance within the African diaspora, essential to the collective remembering who they are, even today. Queen Afua’s Sacred Woman, an African Rites of Passage, is an embodiment of these divine feminine principles of truth, balance, order, and harmony.
